Description
Proportional Assist™* Ventilation Plus (PAV™+)
is an innovative, advanced software option from Puritan Bennett.
Designed exclusively for use with the 840 ventilator, PAV+
amplifies the patient's own spontaneous effort to breathe by increasing
airway pressure during inspiration. A sophisticated software algorithm
continuously and automatically adjusts the pressure based on
measurements taken throughout the inspiratory cycle to maintain an
appropriate degree of support.
The PAV+ monitor screen displays
real-time calculations of patient work, airway resistance and lung
compliance. This information can assist clinicians in assessing the best
treatment approach for their patients at any given time.
